Services & fit

What kinds of businesses does GreenTarget work with?
GreenTarget focuses on established Amazon, Shopify and multichannel eCommerce businesses that need dependable QuickBooks Online accounting, settlement reconciliation, financial reporting, or fractional controller support. We assess the business’s channels, systems, records and reporting needs before recommending a scope.
What is the difference between monthly bookkeeping and fractional controller support?
Monthly bookkeeping focuses on keeping transactions classified and reconciled and completing an accurate month-end close. Fractional controller support adds financial statement review, investigation of accounting exceptions, balance sheet oversight, documented controls, and follow-up recommendations. The scope can include both or controller support alongside an existing bookkeeper.
Can you work with our existing bookkeeper or accounting team?
Yes. GreenTarget can provide a defined review and controller layer while your existing bookkeeper handles daily processing. We agree in advance on responsibilities, access, review procedures, communication, and who posts approved corrections.
Do you provide tax filing, complex sales tax compliance, or fractional CFO services?
Our core work is eCommerce accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, cleanup, and fractional controller oversight. Complex multistate sales tax compliance, specialist tax advice, and full CFO engagements are not represented as standard GreenTarget services. We can coordinate accounting information with your designated tax professional where agreed.

Systems & transactions

Which platforms and accounting tools do you support?
We work with QuickBooks Online and can also support Xero. QuickBooks Online is the accounting platform most commonly used in our engagements. For marketplace accounting, we work with suitable integrations such as A2X or Link My Books and platforms including Amazon, Shopify, TikTok Shop and eBay. We review the actual payment flows, accounting system and integration setup before confirming scope.
Do I need QuickBooks Online and A2X or Link My Books?
For ongoing marketplace accounting engagements, GreenTarget generally works with QuickBooks Online, although Xero is also supported. We typically use an appropriate settlement-posting integration such as A2X or Link My Books, depending on the accounting platform and sales channels. We do not offer an ongoing spreadsheet-only bookkeeping service.
Why do Amazon or Shopify deposits not always equal sales?
Marketplace and payment processor payouts may be net of refunds, fees, reserves, timing differences, or other adjustments. We reconcile settlement reports to their accounting entries and bank activity rather than treating every bank deposit as gross sales.
Can you help with inventory, landed costs and cost of goods sold?
Yes, where reliable inventory quantities, purchase costs, landed-cost support and movements are available. We can review inventory and COGS schedules and accounting differences. SKU-level or channel-level profitability is only as reliable as the underlying data and cost allocations.

Cleanup, reporting & monthly close

What if our books are behind or the balances do not reconcile?
We can assess outstanding reconciliations, missing records, incorrect mappings and other historical issues, then propose a defined cleanup or catch-up phase. Material corrections are supported and reviewed before posting; we do not simply force balances to zero.
What happens during your monthly close?
The agreed process typically includes bank and credit card reconciliations, marketplace settlement review, relevant balance sheet and inventory/COGS checks, classification review, and preparation or review of financial reports. The detailed checklist depends on your systems and engagement scope.
What financial reports will we receive?
Depending on the scope, deliverables can include a profit and loss statement, balance sheet, reconciliations, an executive financial summary, controller review findings, and supporting schedules. Reporting is tailored to the available records and management questions rather than promising a fixed analysis that every client needs.
Can you help us understand cash flow and profitability?
Yes. We can help examine profitability, cash movement, working capital and financial trends using supported accounting information. Cash forecasts, budgets and deeper modeling may be separately scoped, with assumptions clearly documented.
Do you change prior-period accounting entries without approval?
Material or sensitive corrections should be supported by evidence and discussed through the agreed review and approval process, particularly for previously closed or reported periods. We document the issue, recommended accounting treatment and verification steps.

Pricing, onboarding & working together

Do you offer fixed monthly fees?
Yes. GreenTarget prefers fixed-fee monthly arrangements based on transaction complexity, number of channels and accounts, state of the books, reporting requirements and level of controller involvement. Cleanup and setup work may be quoted separately.
How much does a fractional controller engagement cost?
Pricing depends on the responsibilities and complexity involved. We do not present a single universal rate on this page because a controller-only review and a full accounting-and-close engagement require different scopes. We can propose a fixed fee after an initial assessment.
What do you need to get started?
We typically review your sales channels, QuickBooks Online setup, integrations, bank and payment accounts, current financial reports, unresolved reconciliations, inventory process and reporting goals. Access should be shared through appropriate user permissions rather than by sending passwords.
How long will onboarding or cleanup take?
Timing depends on how many periods and accounts need review, the quality of existing records, availability of statements and marketplace reports, and response times for questions. We confirm a realistic scope and sequence after assessing the records.
How do we discuss whether GreenTarget is the right fit?
Book a consultation to describe your business, current accounting process, unresolved issues and reporting needs. We can then identify the appropriate next step, whether a focused review, cleanup project, monthly accounting support, or fractional controller oversight.
